Our Objective
To establish a service that connects small local farmers with local establishments, ensuring a reliable supply of fresh, local produce. Rooted in systems that support consistency, transparency, and trust—allowing restaurants and small businesses to plan with confidence while honoring the realities and hardships faced by farmers in HawaiÊ»i.
Sustainability is a key component of our work. We source food just miles from the kitchen to reduce food miles and transportation-related emissions—naturally contributing to carbon offsetting—while preserving freshness, peak flavor, and nutritional integrity. Shorter distances between farm and plate allow ingredients to arrive as intended: vibrant, resilient, and at their best.
MahiÊ»ai Market supports Sustainable Tourism by aligning local food sourcing with HawaiÊ»i’s visitor economy, without compromising farmers, land, or long-term resilience. We connect our visitors, supporting restaurants, and communities through Hawai'i-grown food in a meaningful partnership that support farmer resilience, reduce environmental impact, and deliver authentic local experiences.

Our Values
Beyond products, MahiÊ»ai Market is committed to taking care of people that deliver—farmers, producers, chefs, bakers and partners whose work sustains a thriving a local food ecosystem and the power of choosing local for the greater good—by building systems rooted in fairness, predictability, and respect, ensuring growth never comes at their expense.
90% of Hawaii's food supply is imported from the U.S. mainland and other countries, leaving only roughly 10% produced locally. Every meal we eat depends on systems we don't control.
What happens if the shipment stops?
Choosing local matters.
Designed for Adoptability
By providing optionality and flexibility, MahiÊ»ai Market supports small farmers alongside restaurants and small businesses as they adapt to changing seasons, evolving menus, and shifting demand—remaining responsive and resilient without relying on rigid systems or one-size-fits-all solutions. The result is a food network designed for longevity, built to support HawaiÊ»i’s communities today and into the future.
